Workshop 4 Writing Formulas Representing Numerical Patterns; Formulas for Determining Perimeter, Circumference, Area, and Volume The hands-on modeling methods for teaching the meaning of the formula for determining perimeter, circumference, area, and volume adds excitement and interest to your measuring unit. This workshop is for anyone who wants to end their struggle with formulas! Literature Connection: Mouse Count / Sir Cumference and the Round Table Who Should Attend This One Day Workshop: 3rd - 6th grade teachers and all support staff Teachers will receive: table of measures, student dictionary with activity workbook Please bring: 2 inch 3-ring binder, 15 feet of string, 75 unlined 3 by 5 cards, scissor, 100 popsicle sticks, tacky putty, black permanent marker, 20 sheets of colored construction paper, tape, paper clips, glue stick, 10 tabbed dividers
